Part 13 (8): Contemplation & the Ruined Reactor

The party gets a chance to collect itself, but all is not well...

AERIS: :...How could they know we were coming here?"

CLOUD: "They followed us... But there weren't any signs of it. Then, that means..."

TIFA: "A spy!? ...No way."

CLOUD: (Turns, uneasily looks upward) "I don't even want to think about there being a spy..." (looks to group, nods) "I trust everyone."

Now that the plot foreshadowing is done, head up the path after Elena. The scene will shift to... uh... wow, that... that looks bad.

There's a new enemy in this area who will likely ambush you before you get a chance to investigate the ruins...

HEAVY TANK

LVL: 21, HP: 1600, MP: 25.
ATTACKS: Hit (Medium damage), Wheelie Attack (medium damage), Big spiral (medium damage vs all).
ELEMENTS: Voids GRAVITY.
EXP: 340, AP: 45, Gil: 1300.
STEAL: Phoenix Down. MORPH: Power Source. WIN: Hi-Potion.

You'll notice that Heavy Tank is only a bit weaker than the Turks you just fought, though they hunt alone, so unless stealing or morphing, treat him like you would any other boss creature and take the necessary precautions (big guard, beta, etc)

Once that's out of the way, inspect the wreckage...

CLOUD: "...A ruined reactor."

Suddenly, a helicopter is heard nearby. The camera pans over, only to Show that Scarlet and Tseng have arrived on the scene!

CLOUD: "It's Scarlet, Head of Shinra Weapon Development." (After dispensing that piece of obvious dribble, Cloud runs and hides behind the reactor as Tseng and Scarlet approach.)

Scarlet looks at the reactor, and seems preoccupied with something in the wreckage. After a moment though, she gives up.

SCARLET: "...HMPH! This one isn't any good, either. You only get junky Materia from junky reactors. This reactor's a failure." (turns to Tseng) "What I'm looking for is big, large, huge Materia. You seen any?"

TSENG: (Curtly, but obviously not giving a rat's ass) "No, I haven't seen it. I'll get on it right away."

SCARLET: "Please. We could make the ultimate weapon if only we had some!"

TSENG: "I just can't wait."

SCARLET: "With Hojo gone, Weapon Development's been getting a bigger budget."

TSENG (getting annoyed) "I envy them."

SCARLET: (puts hand to chin) "But, even if we make the perfect weapon, could that stupid Heidegger even use it?"

TSENG: "..."

SCARLET: "Oh... Sorry! I forgot that Heidegger is your boss! Kya ha ha!"

TSENG: "..."

SCARLET: "Let's go!"

They turn to leave, enter the helicopter, and vacate the area. Cloud comes out from hiding to contemplate this new information.

CLOUD: (puts hand to chin) "...Big, large, huge Materia? An ultimate weapon? The perfect weapon? Just what are the Shinra up to...?"

Heh. Again with the plot foreshadowing. Anyway, head to where Scarlet was looking at the reactor and hit [OK]. Cloud will see "Something shiny", and shiny things are good, so go grab it!

It's the TITAN materia!
