Part 13 (4): Sidequests, con't

Once you're done getting your arse whupped, leave Junon city via either the helicopter or elevator down into Junon fishing harbor.

I suggest the later.  This way, you can pay a visit to your old parade buddies from earlier...

Then you can head down to Junon harbor (riding the elevator down is free, but to go back up, you need to pay a whopping TEN GIL!!) and pay a visit to Pricilla.

She's sleeping though, so... hey, wait, Cloud, wtf are you DOING?! >=O  Oh, wait, she's just having a dream about Mr. Dolphin, so that's.... still kinda disturbing when you think in terms of connotation.  Dammit, Square!  She's 12, leave her out of your demented fantasies!

That sordidness aside, leave the city, and you SHOULD emerge on the world map, controlling the Buggy.  If it's just Cloud, you did something horribly wrong and that makes you a worthless excuse for a human being. Anyway, you need the buggy because we need it to cross the river =)

That's right, take the buggy east-ish and follow the river until you come to a light-teal colored part.  That's shallow water, and you can use the buggy to get the the other side, where you may or may not have seen a cave earlier.  Hop outta the buggy and head into the cave.

Inside you'll see a sleeping old man.  When you try talking to him, he'll rattle off various things, such as "Large Materia needs high-level materia", how many time's you've escaped from battle, and how many times you've fought.

Now, that last number is the one you wanna pay attention to.  You see, if the last two digits of the # of battles you've fought are the same (like 300, 199, 244, 333), the old man will wake up and give you an item.  If the number is EVEN, you get a BOLT RING (An accessory that nullifies lightning damage).  If you have an ODD number, then you'll get MYTHRIL, which is the item we're looking for.  You can't use it for anything yet, but it'll come in handy later.

If you don't have the right # of battles, run around outside near the cave, and manually count how many more battles you have to fight.  The enemies out here are easy (At least compared to those Slaloms and Death machines), so all you gotta worry about is getting your battle count to a nice, same-last-two-digits number.  Try getting both items if you feel like wasting some time (the enemies around here won't do leveling up much good if you in the level 30+ range).

Unlike what some rumors suggest, having three like digits doesn't yield any further items, nor does escaping any number of times.  Trust me, I've tried -_-

While you're doing all this fighting, keep an eye out for ZIMZELLETTs.  They have an awesome E-Skill you can grab by MANIPULATING them called WHITE WIND.

When you're done with all of that, head over to Fort Condor!
