Upon hitting the alarm, You'll start encountering very powerful enemies. Keep up Big Guard and throw EVERYTHING at them: Summons, e-skills, the works. Death Machine (Lvl 35) HP: 2500; MP: 150; EXP: 900; AP: 80; Gil: 1200 Win: n/a; Steal: W Machine Gun; Morph: N/a Attacks: W-Machine gun (will sometimes be used twice); 100 Needles (does about 1/4th of your max HP damage); Matra Magic E-Skill. Elements: None. You'd think he'd be weak against lightning, but, he ain't. Watch out for this bastard. Really. He likes to attack 4 times in a row when low on life, and can easily kill a low-level character in 2 hits. Good thing they're encountered solo =/ BATTLE TIPS: The key to beating Death Machine is by putting up Big Guard, and smacking him hard with LASER, both of which you SHOULD have on your two e-skill materia by now. Beta (If ya got it) and Aqualung will also ensure a quick victory. The key is do NOT let up. Over-kill is good, because breaking for even a moment will allow DM to attack FOUR TIMES in a row. If any one of your characters is low on health, DM can and will KO your entire party. So keep your health up, and give 'im hell! Slalom (Lvl 37) HP: 1600; MP: 30; EXP: 700; AP: 70; Gil: 1500 Win: Deadly Waste; Steal: Smoke Bomb; Morph: Hi-Potion Attacks: Punch (Physical damage), Smog (Damage + Inflicts either Poison OR Darkness). Will sometimes use both versions of smog in a combo. Elements: Halves WATER. Which sucks, cuz, you know, you have ALL these water spells that you'd like to use *rolls eyes* Travels in group of 2 or 3, and is a good match for your party. Protect yourself with accessories that block poison/darkness and you'll be fine. BATTLE TIPS: One of these guys can be a pain, but sometimes you'll find yourself up against THREE. Use Beta (If ya got it), summons, and your limits which will invariably come up during the course of your battles. Try to knock them all out at once. Trying to take them down one at a time will only waste time and HP, unless you're adequately protected against Poison and Darkness status's. Protecting yourself with Big Guard is recommended, but not essential (Unless your levels are low). And finally, you'll find that your characters will need to use the Inn probably after every battle, if not just every other. So stay close to the exit. The worst thing is that you gain like 3 levels since your last save, but your party members are in the yellow, so you decide to go rest when OOPS, battle swirl and you're dead in one turn.By training in this area for only an hour or so, you should be able to gain quite a few levels. Make sure you occasionally swap your characters, as well, if anyone's lagging behind in the exp department. Once the battles start becoming "easy" and you're not exactly gaining levels all that quickly, that means it's time to go.
